HIDE MEMORIAL SUMMIT
X JAPAN, hide memorial live!
100,000 fans to fill Aji Stadium!
"On March 20th it was revealed that a memorial event for X Japan guitarist hide (Matsumoto Hideto, deceased 33years of age) who's sudden passing is coming up to its 10th anniversary on May 2nd is to be held on May 3rd and 4th at Ajinomoto Stadium Tokyo Metropolitan Choufu city. It will be X JAPAN's first ever memorial live with all members set to perform. In addition, bands LUNA SEA, Dir En Grey and approximately 20 other bands will perform to a crowd of 100,000.
According to sources close to X JAPAN, the event is to be sponsored by hide's younger brother and produced by YOSHIKI. 100,000 people are expected to attend over the 2days to be held at Ajinomoto Stadium in Tokyo on May 3rd and 4th following hide's death memorial which is May 2nd.
The event is to be called hide memorial summit. Living up to its name the summit is set to include the performances of such big name artists as LUNA SEA, Dir en Grey and T.M. Revolution, as well as X JAPAN with all its members.
Amongst the performers, attention is being paid to a so called INVINCIBLE BAND. A compilation of bands, friends and staff that were dear to hide. Drummer YOSHIKI selected the guitarist and vocalists (members unannounced) for this mega band.
The memorial concert was originally planned to take place after hide's death. However, plans were stopped because of the huge mental shock of the tragedy to YOSHIKI. But with X JAPAN's reformation last year YOSHIKI thought they should hold the memorial concerts for hide now that 10years have passed and that things have settled down a bit.
Another source elaborated that YOSHIKI doesn't want the memorial to be a sad occasion and wants to make it a noisy and festive event that shocks and excites fans just as hide would have done. The event is set to be a memorable performance fitting of the 10th year anniversary of hide's shocking passing.."
